My project was about Amherst College, Amherst is located in Massachusetts. This project is all about how Amherst conserves energy. They conserve energy by using lights with sensors, sky-lights in the gym, and vending machines with sensors, and they have a machine that powers how much heat and ice they use on the ice rink. This college helps a ton with the environment, they reduce up to 16 tons of carbon-dioxide a year just with those four energy conserving ideas they have. This doesn’t just reduce pollution but it also saves the money for the college. The payback time may be long, but it is a short time compared to a lot of other places that conserve energy. A lot more schools should do what Amherst is doing because it shows that just doing a couple of things will save the planet and money.
